Under the Bridge Workshop Charity Furniture
Under the Bridge Charity Limited provides services to over 100 homeless men & women in the North East.
Emergency accommodation for 31 homeless people at Byker Bridge House.
Therapeutic occupation to 14 vulnerable people at the Workshop.
Primary healthcare services to approximately 25 rough sleepers at the Joseph Cowen Health Centre.
The workshop offers support, training and skills to Tyne Housing Association members through recycling donations of furniture. Furniture is hand stripped by the project participants, repaired and then sold in our two stores to fund the project (not-for-profit), under the supervision of staff and volunteers.
Our Heaton Terrace store, NE6 1JR, primarily stocks our workshop furniture which has gone though the restoration process. We get all sorts of items from wardrobes to coffee tables, shelves to writing desks, please see our facebook page for latest pieces. You never know what interesting things we will have!
New projects are in the pipeline for 2014, including polishing, varnishing and painting sessions.
If you are interested in volunteering, donating furniture, want information on specific items or further details please do contact us.
