Heaton Manor Theatre Project
HMTP is a community youth theatre group founded in 2012, based at Heaton Manor School. Members work together to create all aspects of our productions, including design and marketing, music, choreography, technical operation, costume and performance.
HMTP’s previous work includes participation in 2 previous NTConnections festivals – the group has been selected to take part in this year’s festival also. This production of Macbeth is staged as part of RSC OpenStages, the UK’s biggest amateur theatre project. Having received over 150 applications from across the UK, the RSC along with six partner theatres is working with 90 selected amateur groups. HMTP represents Newcastle as the only group selected from this area.
The show features live music played by members – including some original compositions.
Macbeth takes place at Heaton Manor School on 21 -22 January. Tickets available on the door at £5 each.
Our next production will be Kathryn Chandler’s Hood for NTConnections 2015, at Heaton Manor on March 09 and 10 and at Northern Stage on April 29.
