Bryn Haswell - Recording Artist - Entertainer
I'm a 22 year old vocalist from Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne who's been singing for 6 years. I first learnt my trade as a busker, performing all over the North East to great success.
I have been signed to a management company who I parted with after they would not back my idea of releasing a charity single for the Children's Heart Unit Fund at the Freeman Hospital.
Through busking, I invested 700 pounds of my own money into releasing the single (available online at http://chufsingle.co.uk worth a look) and since then have raised over two thousand pounds for various charities through performing, organising multi-artist concerts and single sales. Alongside charity performances, I've sourced my own paid work, professionalised and polished my act.
I was also previously a runner up out of 250 contestants to Jamie Lambert (now of BGT winners Collabro), in Talent On The Tyne, ran by local charity The Lady Taverners, narrowly missing out on the chance to support both James Morrison and the Sugababes.
My vocals have been aired on various radio stations and I have had my own show on several local radio stations, singing & promoting other local artists. Recently I was featured on an Interview with @PeteCityPrice on @CityTalk1059 #KPRS https://audioboo.fm/boos/2391659-bryn-haswell-speaks-to-pete-price … who has over 1 million listeners.
On November 3rd 2013 I got through to the regional finals of the National Open Mic competition, with the judges stating I have "great potential". I came fourth overall, just missing out on the chance to progress through (top 3). I was also approached by X Factor producers in May 2014 whom I'd been recommended to, who asked me to audition. I reached the third round of the competition this year and am hoping to build on this next year.
